(CMR) A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near Buff Bay Jamaica on Sunday morning.
A map from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) shows the quake hit on the eastern side of the island near portland.
The quake hit at 2:53 a.m. along the Hispaniola and Septentrional Fault with a depth of 10 km according to the USGS.
Jamaicans in several parishes reported feeling the quake with many taking to social media platform Twitter to share their reactions.
“Mi feel mi body a move wid d couch. Frighten yf! #earthquake, ” said Twitter user Kelly Taylor.
