(CMR) Concerned parents are notifying Cayman Marl Road that the local tattoo and piercing shop Xclusive Ink is giving tattoos and piercings to minors without parental consent.
The parents were shocked to discover that fifteen-year-old children are being allowed to go into the tattoo parlor with no parental consent form and receive such services. Given that children cannot legally enter into any contracts this is highly illegal.
The above exchange between two minors appears to imply that there's an extra fee being charged to bypass the parental consent requirement.
One parent shared:
“This report is especially concerning given that certain procedures such as inking carries the risk of infection and potentially worse. A minor is not in a position to make such an adult decision and the parlor is very well aware of the legal implications. They should have their license revoked for allowing this. In fact, they are not checking any IDs and will claim total ignorance despite it being obvious these are children.”
CMR contacted the business via email back in March and have yet to receive any response to our query.
