(CMR) A stabbing incident occurred earlier Monday evening just before 7:45 p.m. at Milo Laundrymat located on Kennedy Drive, (Swamp) area of George Town between two women.
It has been reported that a pregnant Jamaican and a Honduran woman engaged in a fight that ended with both being transported to the hospital with stab wounds. The fight was said to be over who should get a particular washing machine after the Honduran lady removed clothing from a machine.
Eyewitnesses claimed the Jamaican woman was the aggressor and broke a bottle during an argument and proceeded to attack the other laundry patron. Both women sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at George Town Hospital and later released.
An investigation into this incident is currently underway by CID. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information regarding this incident to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
