(CMR) Chief Medical Officer John Lee on Wednesday (May 13) reported one new case of the coronavirus in the Cayman Islands, bringing the island’s total to 86.
Lee said the latest case was acquired in the community.
“There are 329 results in total to give today, of which one is positive and that is a new community-acquired case,” said Lee.
“Twenty-four of those results were given by the Doctor’s Hospital. That brings our total number of positive to 86; the number of symptomatic is at eight, the number of asymptomatic at 21, the number of admitted is unchanged at two and the number of recovered at 54,” added Lee.
Lee further revealed that there are 98 persons in the government's isolation facility and another 100 in community isolation.
According to Lee, the flu clinic and flu hotline calls remain quiet with 12 patients seen in the clinic in the previous 24 hours and 26 flu hotline calls.
