The air bridges which began as part of the COVID-19 response effort to transport people back and forth to the UK have been made possible with the cooperation of the governor's office and the FCO. Over these past months over 2,600 persons from more than 35 nationalities were able to take advantage of the critical flights.
The Governor shared that
“Bereavements, illness, medical treatment, study and loss of employment are just some of the reasons people have had to leave and it has been an amazing feat for everyone involved that during a worldwide pandemic we have been able to support them and get them to where they need to be.”
