(CMR) Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) would like to announce the appointment of Kyle McLean as the Deputy Director for Business Operations, effective 9 January 2020.

Mr. McLean has over 19 years’ experience as a civil servant, beginning in 2000 when he served as a Budget  Liaison Officer with the Budget & Management Unit. In 2003 he advanced to be Financial Administrator in the Department of Tourism and then in 2005, he became Deputy Chief Financial Officer within the Ministry of District Administration, Works & Gender Affairs.  In 2011 he served as the Assistant Director of Tourism, Finance & Administration until this current appointment as Deputy Director of Business Operations for WORC.

As Deputy Director, he will offer support to the Director in providing leadership through the development and implementation of strategic plans, while managing and supporting teams in the departments of Finance, Human Resources & Administration and Customer Services.  His responsibilities include ensuring a strong customer service experience both internally and externally, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans and specified targets and he has responsibility for the overall talent management process. He will also play a strategic role in managing the workplace culture and environment.

Mr. McLean holds a Bachelor of Administration in Accounting with a minor in Information Technology from Stetson University in Florida, as well as a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from the International College of the Cayman Islands. He will complete a Masters of Theological Studies in May 2020 and is currently undertaking The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Level 4 Certification. Having completed various other training workshops and courses, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position.

“We are delighted to welcome Kyle McLean to the WORC Team. Mr. McLean is a Caymanian with many years of management-level experience in the civil service. His leadership skills are already enhancing the organization and we look forward to progressing our strategies, particularly in the area of Human Resources, under Mr. McLean’s leadership” WORC Director Sharon Roulstone explains.

Mr. McLean said about his new appointment “I am excited to be a part of the dynamic team at WORC and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead, as we continue the vision of “Leading the pursuit of full Caymanian employment and economic prosperity for all through service excellence.” “My goal is to build a highly efficient and capable Operations Team that enables WORC to operate at its optimum level.”

Mr. McLean also enjoys fishing, cycling, reading, working with young people and working on cars. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church and is passionate about working with the youth, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.
