(CMR) 19-year-old Jamaican teenager Reggae sensation, Koffee (Mikayla Simpson), won the 2020 Grammy for Best Reggae Album for her album Rapture. She is the first female artist and youngest to ever win that category.
The ceremony was held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Rapture was distributed by Colombia Records and featured the bit hit Toast which did well in both the American and Britsh music charts. It also gained further traction after former President Obama added it to his playlist.
Koffee also made history as being the youngest solo Grammy nominee. She beat out others including Julian Marley to win the much-coveted award.
She attended High School and is from Spanish Town, Jamaica.
