(CMR) Police are now investigating the theft of kiteboarding equipment valued over KYD20,000, which was stolen from a secured metal trailer located in an open lot at Barkers Beach, West Bay.
Police received a report of the theft on Monday 20th June, around midday. The owner of the business from which the equipment was stolen reported that he had secured the trailer door with two padlocks around noon Sunday 19th June. When he returned to the trailer at around 11:30 AM Monday, 20th June, he discovered the padlocks had been damaged, and access gained to the trailer where over twenty kites and ten kiteboards were stolen.
The stolen equipment has distinctive markings, and images of a selection of the items have been provided to aid with identification. Police are currently investigating this incident and are appealing to anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the equipment to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
