(CMR) A 13-year-old student at John Gray High School has assaulted and “knocked out” a security guard on the school grounds yesterday morning shortly after 7:30 am. He has since been arrested according to exclusive CMR sources and released to his father.
He was said to knock him unconscious with a kick and then fled the scene where he was missing for some two hours. He was attempting to leave the school compound without authorization. When the officer attempted to stop the truancy he was assaulted.
After the incident occurred the police were contacted and were observed on the University Community College (UCCI) grounds looking for the teen suspect and interviewing potential witnesses. He was eventually apprehended. Apparently the assault was so severe that the guard was left unconscious as a result.
Sources have shared that the man remains in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
No statement has been released in relation to this matter thus far from the police or Ministry of Education. However, CMR understands his mother works for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Services as a member of the communications team.
