(CMR) A Jamaican goat herder was beaten by thieves who attempted to steal one of his animals.
According to police, two men, 35-year-old Hopeton Campbell, otherwise called ‘Ankle Socks’, and 22-year-old Shaunette Williams, otherwise called ‘BlackBerry’ have been charged in connection with the incident.
Police say that at a about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday the complainant allegedly came home and caught Campbell attempting to steal one of his goats.
The complainant reportedly confronted Campbell and a group of persons, including Williams began to hit him with stones and stabbed him several times.
Residents reportedly rescued the complainant and alerted the Police, who assisted him to the hospital; he was treated and released.
Campbell and Williams both turned themselvs into police after an investigation was launched.
They were subsequently charged for Wounding with Intent and Larceny of Cattle and are scheduled to appear before the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, September 23 to answer to the charges laid against them.
