(CMR) Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is in mourning following the passing of his sister, DeOndra Dixon.
Dixion died one Oct. 19, 2020 but Fox took to Instagram on Tuesday (October 27) to share the tragic news.
The actor described his sister, who was named ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2011, as a ” bright light” who loved dancing.
“My heart is shattered into a million pieces… my beautiful loving sister Deondra has transitioned… I say transitioned because she will always be alive… anyone who knew my sis… knew that she was a bright light… I can’t tell you how many times we have had parties at the house where she has got on the dance floor and stolen the show… even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for his money,” said Foxx in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Well I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on…tho my pain is unbelievable I smile when I think of all of the great memories that she left me… my family… and her friends… from dancing in the blame it video… to Dancing on the Grammys,” added Foxx.
The actor's sister died at the young age of 36.
Born Eric Marlon Bishop, Foxx is the son of Darrell Bishop (renamed Shahid Abdula following his conversion to Islam) and Louise Annette Talley Dixon.
Shortly after his birth, Foxx was adopted and raised by his adoptive parents.
