O’Brian Ellis, one of Jamaica’s most wanted men who was captured in Cayman on August 18 was extradited back to Jamaica this morning.
Ellis had pleaded with the court to stop his extradition on the grounds that he could face the death penalty if returned to Jamaica. However, the court did not agree to his argument's about a “right to life” under our constitution.
Ellis was escorted back to Jamaica this morning and handed over to the authorities there where he's expected to stand trial for the murder of his own brother. It is alleged that Ellis murdered his own brother in cold blood after an argument ensued with his girlfriend. Ironically his brother had reported Ellis to police earlier that day and indicated he was fearful for his life.
