(CMR) A high-level probe is now being carried out by the Jamaica Constabulary Force after two of its members were implicated in the disappearance of a woman who went missing on 13 July. A policeman and his child's mother, who is also a member of the JCF, are to be questioned by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) in relation to the disappearance of his girlfriend, Donna-Lee Donaldson (24).
The disappearance of Donaldson is believed to be a love triangle gone wrong. The policeman was said to be in a relationship with Donaldson and the mother of his child at the same time.
Reports are that on 11 July, the policeman picked up Donaldson in a black BMW motor car to spend the night with him at his apartment in Kingston. The policeman told Donaldson's mother that she had left his apartment on Tuesday, 12 July, sometime after 11:00 am.
However, family members theorized she never left the apartment but was killed, and the policeman and woman disposed of her body. There are unconfirmed reports that they were seen putting an item in a private garbage truck.
Family and friends of Donaldson, a popular figure on social media, staged several protests calling on the Jamaica Constabulary Force to do more in investigating the woman's disappearance.
Several different theories are circulating on social media, but the Jamaica police force has not confirmed any. Police said they had collected CCTV footage from the apartment complex and processed the policeman's apartment and car.
Lawyers representing both persons said their clients have denied harming Donaldson. The police also indicated that they were treating the case as a missing person case as there was no evidence of a murder.
