(CMR) KINGSTON, Jamaica — Quarter-miler Kavon Nelson was reportedly gunned down at his home on MacVille Terrace in Kingston this morning. Sections of Jamaica’s track and field fraternity are in mourning following the brutal killing of 25-year-old.
According to news sources gunmen invaded Nelson's home some time around 12:30 am Tuesday and shot him MacVille Terrace in Kingston. Police said he was shot several times and pronounced dead at hospital.
Nelson was a former student of Calabar High School and was a member of the Akan Track Club at the time of his death. News of his death was hard to take by his training partner, world championship medallist, Javon Francis.
“RIP to my best friend, otherwise my training partner,” Francis posted on his Facebook page this morning. “I never know this day would come. You are a brother to me and someone who love and care but I just want to say I love you from the bottom of my heart you will still be in my heart bro.”
