(CMR) Governor Martyn Roper on Monday (May 11) said that over the weekend he had been tested for COVID-19.
According to Roper, he was tested as part of the island's overall strategy to combat the virus, which focuses on the testing of frontline workers.
“I was tested for Covid-19 on Friday with the rest of the staff from my office and Government House. I’m pleased to report all the results were negative,” said the Governor as he shared the good news on his Facebook page.
“It was a very quick and simple procedure and it’s important for our strategy that all frontline staff take up the testing opportunity when offered,” he added.
The Governor on Sunday said that Cayman’s transition into Level 3 of the government’s COVID-19-suppression plan is still on track despite the new positive linked to a local supermarket.
