(CMR) Governor Martyn Roper met yesterday with members of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS).
On Wednesday, 7 November, our Community Officers spent the morning on patrol with His Excellency Governor Martyn Roper. They spent some time in West Bay before stopping in at Seven Mile Public Beach then heading into George Town to take a quick stroll on the waterfront.
The Governor then made his way over to the RCIPS Air Operations Unit where he was given an overview of the AOU's role and capabilities and then joined by Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin for a flight on the police helicopter, X-Ray One.
Our officers were excited to get to know our new Governor and for him to see first hand the impact that community policing has in our communities, as well as the invaluable service the Air Operations Unit provides.
