(CMR) The Attorney General on behalf of the Cayman Islands Government is suing Winston James Salmon T/A G&A Spectacular Cleaning for over $22,000 in bounced checks according to a recent lawsuit filed in the Summary Court.
The Writ of Summons supplied the particulars of the debit which include 12 payments made by my check that was dishonored by the bank. The amounts range from $3,075 to $570.00 covering a period from June 21, 2-19 to November 20, 2021 totally CI$22,437.50 for government services.
The Writ notes that “notwithstanding the demands for payment” and “efforts to have the Defendant enter a payment agreement the Defendant has failed to do so. He has 14 days to acknowledged receipt and an additional 14 days to file any response to the lawsuit.
G&A Spectacular Cleaning address for service is 124 Halifax Road. This is not the first time that Salmon has been before the courts for debt after he was taken to court by Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Ltd. in 2017 for defaulting on a mortgage. In that instance, the bank placed the property in foreclosure and took a forced sale leaving him still indebted to them by Cl$46,045.66.
In 2014 he was also taken to court by the National Pensions Office for a pension offense for a company called Aralco Ltd. where he faced one charge of Failing to Comply with an order of a Labour Tribunal contrary to section 76 of the Labour Law (2011 Revision) for failing to pay an employee $11,970 as severance pay. The company was found guilty and ordered to pay the funds by Magistrate McFarlane in August 2015. They were ordered to pay $600 monthly into the court's office towards the outstanding debt.
The following month they were back in court again where Aralco Cayman Ltd. was charged and pleaded guilty for failing to comply with an order to make compensation of $3,500 for severance pay before Dec. 18, 2014.
CMR understands that Aralco Cayman Ltd. is back in court again for more recent pension infractions and were once again arrested in December 2021.
