(CMR) A woman who went viral on social media recently after she used the super-strong industrial adhesive Gorilla Glue in her hair can finally breathe a sigh of relief as a doctor was able to remove the glue from her hair successfully.
Tessica Brown, popularly referred to as ‘the Gorilla Glue Girl', is recovering after Dr. Michael Obeng performed a four-hour procedure to remove the polyurethane adhesive from her hair.
She spent about a month with the glue covering up her follicles before Dr. Obeng stepped in to help.
Brown from Louisiana told ET that she was in a hurry to leave home when she realized she was out of hair spray. She then resorted to using the adhesive, thinking it could be washed out. However, she was in for a surprise when she realized her hair was held in place for over a week despite her many attempts to wash it.
She went to the ER after realizing no home remedy could remove it, but there was not much they could do for her either.
Her mishap when viral when she took to TikTok to ask for help.
“The reason I took this to social media was because I didn't know what else to do. I know somebody out there could have told me something. I didn't think for one second when I got up the next morning it was gonna be everywhere,” Brown said.
Brown, who has been the subject of ridicule, said the whole situation had taken a toll on her, and she wished she never posted the video. She said her children have also been affected by all the unwanted attention and jokes.
Brown, who owns Tessica’s Little Angels Daycare and runs the Dazzling Divaz dance team, raised almost $20,000 on a GoFundMe page she set up to help with treatment.
