(CMR) Update: A man has been charged with the death of a four-year-old girl and the injury of her father in Jamaica.
Kevin Williams (36), a chef of Freeman’s Hall in Trelawny, and Mount Zion in St Andrew, has been charged with murder, wounding with intent, burglary, and illegal possession of a firearm.
Cloey Brown was shot and killed early Monday morning after shots were fired into her Trelawny home.
Reports are that Cloey was at home in Ulster Spring with her father about 1:05 a.m on Monday when he was called outside.
A tussle ensued when he opened the door, and explosions were heard. The child was shot in the abdomen while her father was shot in the leg.
They were both taken to the hospital, where Cloey was pronounced dead, and her father was hospitalized in stable condition.
The police have since taken the child's uncle and another man into custody.
Reports are that Cloey's father and his brother had an argument on Sunday, and threats were made.
