(CMR) Former Prime Minister of Barbados, Owen Seymour Arthur, had died.
Reports are that Arthur died on Monday morning (July 27) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, he was 70-years-old.
Arthur who was the island's longest-serving Prime Minister Arthur was hospitalised earlier this month after suffering heart-related complications.
The former prime minister who led Barbados for three consecutive terms beginning on September 6, 1994 left office in 2008 when his party, the Democratic Labour Party, was defeated at the polls.
While Arthur stepped down as party leader, he remained the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Saint Peter.
Current MP for St Peter, Colin Jordan is coordinating minister for the funeral arrangements.
