(CMR) A Cayman Airways repatriation flight to Miami was forced to return to Grand Cayman shortly after takeoff due to a medical emergency.
In a release, CAL said a passenger aboard Cayman Airways’ repatriation flight KX3102, which departed Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) at 10:19 am this morning, destined for Miami, experienced a medical emergency in flight approximately 15 minutes after takeoff.
The Captain returned the aircraft to ORIA to ensure that the passenger received the necessary medical attention as quickly as possible. An ambulance met the aircraft to transport the passenger to the hospital, and after the passenger’s baggage was located and removed from the aircraft, the flight departed again around 12 Noon. All public health protocols were adhered to.
