(CMR) Early reports this morning from Cayman Marl Road informants was that “all hell broke loose at Margaritaville” last night and shots were fired.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has now confirmed that there were several incidents last night shortly before midnight.

Apparently a 19 year old man was struck in the face with a bottle and suffered a laceration to his neck. He was taken to George Town Hospital, treated and released.

As they were assisting with that matter another altercation in the parking lot was drawn to their attention. A firearm was discharged. Officers attempted to apprehend two males dressed in dark clothing but they got away after running off in the direction of Fort Street. A vehicle in the parking lot was damaged by the gunshot.

Police are seeking to identify two males in relation to the first incident with the bottle. They are described as brown skin, slim build, about 5’8” tall, with braided hair, with beads at the ends.  The second male is described light skin, also about 5’8” tall.

Margaritaville was packed lat night as people gathered to enjoy the second night of Pirates Week events including the much anticipated fireworks.
