(CMR) Several parents are extremely concerned over the quality of the water at the Clifton Hunter High School in Frank Sound, North Side.
CMR received a video earlier this afternoon of brownish colored water allegedly coming out the water fountain at the school. After we received the video another parent contacted us sharing that her child was home sick as a result of the contaminated water. The parent is very irate and shared:
“The school did not contact me when threw up and was sent to the nurse's station. She called me when she arrived home.”
The young lady is said to be doing better after receiving medication. However, she remains unsatisfied that no real explanation has been provided to the parents.
Our sources indicate the issue has been ongoing for at least two weeks and in some locations the water coming out of the faucets is green in color. One teacher told students it may be “sewage because it is re-used water.”
This parent noted that the only issue the principal appears to be concerned with is addressing the dress code:
“Students are being bullied and cannot even walk with their lunch money for fear of having it taken. Uniforms are such poor quality this year they are falling apart after three months and now this and the only thing the principal is addressing is strict adherence to their dress code. I'm at my wits end with the poor administration.”
We have reached out to the ministry for comment.
