(CMR) A young girl's pet dog has gone missing, and she and her family are desperate to get him back!
The pet dog, who answers to the name Storm, is a full-bred Shih Tzu weighing 12 lbs. He is beige and tan colored and has a very pronounced underbite. His hair is trimmed low, but he has one paw that is much more fluffy than the rest.
He was last seen on Tuesday 17th August around 12 midday, running from the home of the owner's grandfather, Mr. Eldon Rankin, on 20 Apollo Link, George Town (Windsor Park).
A neighbor confirmed that she saw the dog in the bushes near Mr. Rankin's garage on East Blvd Tuesday afternoon.
He was not wearing his collar at the time of his disappearance. Storm is very wary of strangers and small children and may growl or bite if he feels threatened.
The family is begging for the safe return of their dog. They are very concerned for his well-being as he is an indoor dog with severe separation anxiety issues, and he disappeared just before the onset of TS Grace. The family does not believe that he can manage the current outdoor conditions for this extended period of time.
The owner's mom commented, “Storm belongs to my daughter, and she is so distraught and upset about him being missing!” “He was given to her as a Christmas gift three years ago, and she treasures him more than anything in the world; he is her best friend.”
“My daughter is heartbroken, and she has cried and begged for us to please find her dog and bring him back home. She wants nothing else but to have him back.”
The mother further commented, “At this point, we can only assume that if he is still alive, he is being held by someone!! Storm would have returned home within an hour of his run yesterday if he was still roaming free.”
The mom further stated that if someone does indeed have her daughter's dog, she would like them to understand the following:
1. He takes daily medication, and he has now missed two doses, so he needs to come home for his meds!
2. He is neutered, so HE CANNOT BE USED FOR BREEDING!!
3. He is microchipped, so it will be easy for him to be identified if he's found.
4. The family does not intend to press any charges – they just want their dog back!
5. This is a child's pet, and she is very sad and inconsolable! “Please, if you have any heart at all, think of how her heart is breaking and return her dog to her.”
