(CMR) The Premier and other panel members have indicated that with eight new COVID-19 cases confirmed at today's press briefing these are the most concerning to date. The governor also reiterated these numbers are “extremely concerning” as some six of the eight they are not able to contact trace who they may have gotten the infection from.
The Chief Medical Officer confirmed that three persons remain hospitalized.
This brings the total number to 54. The beaches remain a hotspot and areas of concern mostly along the Seven Mile Beach corridor. Premier McLaughlin mentioned that beachgoers who were non-compliance yesterday on Seven Mile Beach.
The Minister of Health said:
“I'm begging you to please take heed to the measures we have put in place to save your lives and your family's lives.”
He further shared that we may be looking at an extensive “full lockdown”.
The governor confirmed that a second air-bridge from the UK was being worked on and may be possible in the next ten days.
