(CMR) A 72-year-old snorkeller, Jack Joseph Pardo of North Carolina, has died after getting in some difficulty by the local fish market on North Church Street, George Town on Saturday afternoon.
Reports were received that the cruise ship passenger was brought to shore after experiencing some difficulty in the water. CPR was performed on him for about 20 minutes before the ambulance arrived. One observer noted that there was significant traffic on the road that delayed the arrival of the ambulance to the scene.
Around 3:30 pm, the 911 Communication Centre received a report of a person in distress. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. An eyewitness shared:
“I’m not a doctor but pretty sure he has passed”.
