(CMR) It is not business as usual in the Cayman Islands, given the recently implemented social gathering measures, aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus, which has put a damper on the usual Easter time festivities.
However, while the measures remain in place, they won’t affect the Easter Bunny, after all what would you tell your children the Easter Bunny is under COVID-19 self-quarantine too?
A curfew exemption was granted to the Easter Bunny by the Minister of Trade, Investment, Aviation and Maritime Affairs, Eric Bush on March 8.
The exemption means that the Easter Bunny will be allowed to move around freely to deliver cargo such as baskets, chocolate, candy and other treats, and to facilitate the hiding of eggs.
According to Bush, the exemption was made as it was noted the immense joy that the bunny brings to children of the islands and as such the services were deemed as “essential”
The special provision for Easter Bunny, Bunny & Bunny LLC has been communicated to all the relevant stakeholders, including, Police Commissioner, Derek Byrne.
