(CMR) The displaced tourism stipend program has been extended for an additional three months covering October through December. The initial program began in July after the COVID-19 pandemic saw most of Cayman's Tourism industry without full-time employment.
The government via the Department of Tourism, gave over 2,000 qualified Cayman tourism workers $1,000 a month for three months.
The Premier announced at today's press conference that he would be extending the program through the end of the year and the workers who had previously applied will not be required to re-apply.
Additionally, anyone who missed the initial application process can now reply starting on next week Monday, September 14. The registration link can be found at stipend.ourcayman.ky. They will need to meet the following.
- Caymanian (with proof)
- Worked in the Tourism sector
