Diamonds International Cayman Islands was featured in a 2 On Your Side expose late last year accusing the jewelry chain of selling “overpriced, poor-quality jewelry to tourists.”
The 125-chain store jewelry retailer claims to be ones of the largest jewelry retailers in the world and originally started in St. Thomas over thirty years ago. However, according to this CBS Los Angeles reported they are seller lower valued jewelry at at least double the price to unsuspecting tourists. It then shared several first hand accounts from disappointed tourists who had their jewelry valuations done elsewhere. In one case a customer claims that after wearing her jewelry a handful of times it literally fell apart.
The expose specifically mentioned the Cayman Islands jeweler in it's story.
