(CMR) Multiple Fidelity bank customers have contacted Cayman Marl Road to complain about both the online and phone system being down for several days.
Fidelity sent a notice to customers on Tuesday afternoon stating their systems were down. However, the issue persists with no further updates. The outage impacts debit cards, ATMA and online banking. We have also been advised that the phone lines are also non-operational since Wednesday as well.
Customers are not impressed with one irate one noting:
“What sort of bank can have their online system down for the entire working week with no real updates. Has the bank shut down completely? Where is CIMA and anyone else that cares about financial customers in this country.”
Users overseas are also being inconvenienced by this with cards being declined whilst traveling.
Confidential sources have told us that the system has been hacked and back-office staff has been sent home daily since Wednesday. Local ATM cards should now be operational. The system is expected to be back up on Monday.
CMR has reached out to Fidelity for an update.
