(CMR) The Department of Immigration (DOI) has confirmed that a Cuban migrant vessel arrived in Cayman Brac on Saturday, 10 November 2018 with 27 individuals on board. Of the 22 males and five females, a total of nine persons requested to remain behind.
DOI officials said the vessel has since departed the Island and is continuing to its final destination, as the 18 passengers who stayed onboard requested to do so. No damage was done to the vessel when it arrived in Cayman Brac.
Immigration Enforcement officers are currently conducting interviews with the eight males and one female who remained behind.
