(CMR) The Criminal Records Office on Tuesday (September 15) announced a new standard turnaround time of five business days for all applications.
The announcement comes on the heels of complaints, some captured in the CMR publication, that the office had received about some persons experiencing much longer wait times.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused. These delays have resulted in a backlog of applications which we are working diligently to clear, and stem from several issues, including disruptions due to COVID-19 restrictions and a significant spike since the restrictions have been lifted and parts of the economy reopen,” said the office in a release .
“We have made adjustments, including deploying additional resources to allow us to work through the backlog and return to a more consistent timeframe for processing applications,” added the office.
The office also used the occasion to issue a reminder that all applications must be submitted online, via http://www.eservices.gov.ky/ for Police Clearance Certificates, and https://www.rcips.ky/forms for all other applications.
In addition, payment for applications made through the RCIPS website must be made through bank transfer.
