(CMR) The daily COVID-19 total positive cases for the past 24 hour reporting period dropped to 170 with the sister islands reporting no new cases for that period. All were from the local community with no travelers testing positive. At 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Lee reported that 1,518 PCR tests had been conducted since 8 a.m. on Thursday, 18 November.
These results brought the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 3,675 as at 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November. The total number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic stood at 5,532 as at the same time.
Up to that point, 5,119 people in the Cayman Islands were in isolation either in Government isolation facilities or at home. There were 21 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the Cayman Islands at 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November.
The Public Health department also confirmed that up to 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November there had been 1,508 total positive lateral flow tests since the introduction of the lateral flow test program in the Cayman Islands, which are included in the total positive numbers given above.
As of 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November, Faith Hospital confirmed there were 39 active cases in the Sister Islands, with none identified in the previous 24 hours. To date, there had been 106 total cases recorded in the Sister Islands, with 67 having recovered. Out of the total number of cases in the Sister Islands, 55 were fully vaccinated, six were partially vaccinated, and 45 were unvaccinated.
Up to 8 a.m. on Friday, 19 November there had been 120,858 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, people 57,592 (81% of 71,106) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 55,404 individuals (78%) had completed the two-dose course. Additionally, 8,306 people (representing 12% of the total population) had received a third or booster dose up to that point.
