(CMR) Several private Gulfstream jets arrived this morning from South Korea via Alaska with some 200,000 COVID-19 test components. Exclusive CMR sources indicate that one plane landed around 6:00 am and another some 30 minutes later.
Several persons have reported to CMR during our morning show that they heard airplanes coming into the airport this morning.
The announcement was made last week during a press briefing that we would be sourcing supplies from South Korea, who have been a forerunner in controlling the COVID-19 disease in their country. The test kits are an integral part of attempting to control the speed of the disease and Cayman's Chief Medical Officer has now said that we will loosen the testing requirements in Cayman once more supplies arrive.
Flight plans confirmed that the planes came via Anchorage, Alaska straight to Grand Cayman. Eric Bush, Chief Officer of the Ministry of International Trade, Investment, Aviation and Maritime Affairs later confirmed on his Twitter feed that the supplies had arrived.

“@caymangovt received enough #COVID19 testing kits to test the population more than twice! Another part of the collective and collaborative response to protect our people. Public and private sectors working hand in hand.”
The planes stopped in Alaska to refuel after coming from Seoul, Korea.
