(CMR) Alric Lindsay has shared some useful information for the benefit of the public regarding the new pension withdrawal options made available as a result of COVID-19 in his latest video campaign.
This useful video illustrates the process and answers some basic questions about the law and how it will operate. Lindsay has undertaken a public education campaign on a number of community issues with pensions being the latest on.
Lindsay is a qualified investment funds attorney, having been initially admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar to practice law in February 2005. Alric currently practices investment funds law and is a sole practitioner registered on the rolls of the courts of the Cayman Islands.
He previously qualified as a certified public accountant and worked in compliance after attending both Stetson University and College of Law of England and Wales in London.
Perhaps his greatest commitment at this time is focusing on his volunteerism efforts within the community. He is actively involved in a number of COVID-19 community-based initiatives that allow him to give back to those less fortunate. On an almost daily basis, Lindsay volunteers with the Cayman Islands Food Bank and Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the elderly and other vulnerable members of our community.
Alric shared:
“Some people have access to all the information. Some have access to some of the information. Others are trying to figure out how to access information period. By creating the video in plain language, I hope to reach a larger number of persons who the legislative changes may impact, especially persons who don't have access to the legislation and who are unaware of what it says.
To take the next steps to apply for a pension lump sum, people just want to understand the process. Not read through legal jargon.”
