While Jamaica has been under curfew measures since April 1, 2020 with the country experiencing relative success initially, in recent weeks the effectiveness of the curfew has began to lose it sting.
Over the weekend at least three persons lost their lives during shootouts at illegal parties, with party promoters arrested and hundreds fined for breaching COVID-19 restrictions.
With an uptick in breaches of COVID-19 regulations reported in the last few weeks, there are increased concerns that such risky behaviour could continue as some in the medical community seem to suggest that Jamaicans may be suffering from COVID-19 fatigue.
