(CMR) There have been two road fatalities on Cayman roads in just 12 hours after a second man died on the scene this morning following a motorbike accident in which he ran into the back of a school bus according to eyewitnesses. This incident is the third major road accident since last evening.
No children were on the bus at the time.
Police and other emergency services are currently on the scene. The roadway is closed both ways between Northward Road and Condor Drive Bodden Town until further notice.There are no diversions available in this area, however officers are working as quickly as possible to open the roadways as soon as possible. Exclusive CMR sources have shared that Deputy Principal of Clifton Hunter High said the kids are arriving at the school now the busses were escorted through.
Last night saw two other serious vehicle accidents involving pedestrians with one of those also being fatal. Both occurred within hours of each other last night. The first incident occurred shortly after 7:15 pm and involved an elderly man who was hit by two vehicles in the vicinity of Anton Bodden Drive closed to Lookout Gardens in Bodden Town. Sources indicate that he was first hit by one vehicle which did not stop. A second vehicle then hit him. Deceased is Shoucair Robinson, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The second pedestrian accident occurred on Keturah Street off Walker's Road. That victim was said to be bleeding from his eyes and was unconscious at the scene and is said to be in critical condition.
