(CMR) We can now confirm that a 54-year-old man involved in a serious accident early Friday morning where a pedestrian was hit has been arrested.
The accident caught the attention of many for the unusual manner in which it occurred. The vehicle left the road and went through a narrow passage way to end up hitting the home and pedestrian – who we understand is an occupant at the residence.
The man is currently on police bail and the investigation progresses.
The pedestrian remains according to a release from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) in critical condition, and is said to be recovering. Initially his injuries were considered life-threatening and he was being treated at the George Town hospital and then transferred to Shetty Hospital in East End. We do understand there have been some improvements.
