(CMR) A boat stolen from David Foster Drive in Grand Cayman has been recovered four days later in Diamond Rock, Roatan Honduras. Thanks to the keen observations of people in Cayman connected to the Roatan community the boat was observed docked there. Sources shared that a Honduran national took the boat to Honduras to have others enjoy it for the Easter holidays.
The 33ft Dusky blue hull and white gunwale boat was powered by two black 250HP Suzuki outboard engines and first reported stolen Wednesday morning to CMR. By that afternoon, many were already on the lookout for it.
The boat was last seen on Friday, 1 April, and discovered missing at about 7:00AM on Tuesday, 5 April. The boat was stolen from a canal off Will Wallace Drive, George Town.
The boat arrived in Honduras on Thursday night and by Friday night the Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG) and RCIPS were notified of its location by tipsters. The coast guard proceeded to contact the Honduran Navy who were then pursuing assisting through INTERPOL. This led to the successful recovery of the vehicle by family members of the owners living in Honduras, and is in their possession.
CMR sources indicate it is being cleaned and prepared to be returned to the Cayman Islands. The family sent their gratitude to Cayman Marl Road and its fans who in part made this speedy recover possible.
