(CMR) Cayman Marl Road has entered into a settlement agreement with Blake Ducharme and Black Gold Investments following defamation litigation that commenced last summer.
We are pleased that the parties have agreed to settle the case without the need for any further litigation. The terms of the settlement are contained in a written agreement that was signed by the parties; the details of which are subject to a confidentiality agreement.
The matter has now been fully settled and pursuant to the Tomlin Order filed with the Grand Court earlier this week we issue the following statement:
As you know, CMR has been involved in litigation with Blake Ducharme and his company Black Gold Investments since last summer. We have come to an arrangement with Mr. Ducharme which will bring this to an end and allow both parties to move on. The precise terms of the settlement are confidential but as of today we are removing the disputed content relating to him and his company from all of our platforms and we wish to formally apologise to him for publishing misleading information and for any inconvenience and damage to reputation that may have been caused.
We are grateful to be able to put this matter behind us and move forward in our desire to serve the people of the Cayman Islands for all of your digital media needs.
