(CMR) Dr. Lee issued some worrying news about the 29 people now admitted to the hospital. In his video update he shared that “a lot of these people have been older”. 86% of those admitted are unvaccinated including one person from The Pines Retirement Home. He stressed that the elderly and anyone with additional diseases is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of a COVID-19 infection.
He went on to stress that it's necessary to take precautions to protect those vulnerable individuals including proper mask wearing, hand washing and even taking a lateral flow test before visiting the elderly.
Six of the 29 people are receiving care at Health City with one person remains on a ventilator, one receiving respiratory mask support and 13 receiving supplementary oxygen.
