(CMR) The arrival of Cayman Airways' third Boeing 737-8 is scheduled to arrive this evening around 5:30 p.m. at the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) as KX7003. The plane was spotted on several air tracking services.
Many are anxiously awaiting its arrival into Cayman airspace after it makes its 3,000-mile journey which is expected to take roughly five and a half hours at a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet at a ground speed of 500 knots. Caymanian pilots Captain Perry Panton and First Officer Dalkeith Whittaker are bringing the aircraft home.
The plane left the Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington today at exactly 12:00 p.m. Cayman Time and should be visible in the skies over Grand Cayman from about 5:20 p.m., for an approximate landing time at ORIA around 5:30 p.m.
On board are Cayman Airways’ delivery acceptance team from its Engineering Department and In-flight Department, who ensured that the aircraft met all of the airline’s delivery criteria. The aircraft will park at the General Aviation Terminal where the delivery team and crew will be met by Public Health Officials for quarantine processing.
