(CMR) Caymanian Birmingham Pilot, Tevin McLeod (28) (Springeh), has been arrested and jailed for raping a child in Birmingham.

Tevon McLeod in Merritt Florirda

He has been dubbed the Pedophile Pilot and was arrested by police Saturday, September 7 when he flew to Manchester Airport. He was charged the following day with rape and sexual assault of a child under 13. Reports are that he initially denied the allegations but the Birmingham Crown Court was presented with messages he sent to the girl not only acknowledging the abuse but attempting to prevent her from “reporting the sickening crimes”.

Apparently, he was more concerned about tarnishing his reputation and warned her about the fact he would lose his pilot license and go to jail. The incidents occurred between 2015 and 2016, and he was jailed on Friday, November 8 after admitting to the charges. He was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order on his release

“For a child to speak out and report sexual abuse is a huge deal for them and I commend the bravery of this young girl for confiding in someone. It’s for these sorts of crimes involving children that we have a dedicated specialist department with officers specially trained to help young people through the judicial process. I’ve no doubt that the voice of this child has stopped other children being targeted.”

Det Con Stewart Garratt, from West Midlands Police's Birmingham Child Abuse Public Protection Team

He was very active in extracurricular activities including music, sports and cadets. McLeod attended the Savannah Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a cadet's drummer in the Explorers Club and police band. He also ran track locally. He worked at local retailer, Cost U less, where he was saving up to attend flight school at 2Fly Aviation School in Merrit, Florida. He attended John Gray High School and graduated in 2009.

His mother was a bus warden at John Gray.

CMR sources shared that he grew up on Plum Tree Road in Northward. One of his George Hicks classmates shared he always found him to be a bit odd:

“Seemed like a slow guy otherwise though, weirdo to the core and never had luck with the girls. Was annoying as fuck, and he would come around all the time and end up getting smacked up and chased away but he always came back for it.”
