(CMR) Caymanian Sherena Anglin has been accepted to study law at the University of Cambridge's Cavendish College. She is the first Caymanian to be accepted by the institution to study law.
Sherena, a Year 13 student at Cayman Prep & High School, was accepted after doing exceptionally well in a very competitive field.
The school, in a Facebook post, congratulated Sherena. The post read:
“We are delighted to share that another Year 13 student, Sherena Anglin, has been offered a place to study Law at the University of Cambridge! Sherena attained four grade A's in her AS levels, studying History, Business Studies, Drama & Travel & Tourism. She is predicted to exceed these results in her A-levels in June. We are so proud of Sherena and all she has achieved! Congratulations, Sherena!”
Also, in a Facebook post, Sherena's father, Rolston Anglin, a former Minister of Education, said he was proud of his daughter's accomplishment.
“Shena Anglin and I are so very proud of Sherena. She set her goal of going to becoming a lawyer and attending Cambridge all on her own from a very young age. We have watched this gifted young lady blossom before our very own eyes,” he wrote.
He expressed thanks to all her teachers who have positively contributed to her educational journey.
