(CMR) According to an Airbnb The Cayman Islands is ranked in the top ten Caribbean destinations for 2018 for Airbnb bookings.
The list ranked The Cayman Islands in the number three position after The US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. It states that George Town, Grand Cayman has seen a 100% increase in bookings via Airbnb over the past year.
The list covered the top 11 Caribbean destinations and also included St. Lucia, Jamaica and the Bahamas. The rankings were comprised of internal Airbnb data as of September 2018 that measured future guest booking for November – March in the Caribbean. It only included destinations with a minimum of 100 guest arrivals and compared those to the same period last year.
Travelers around the world continue to select the Caribbean as one of the top regional destinations around the world. Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, the walkable capital city known for its shopping district and historic sites, has seen a whopping 600 percent increase. San Juan, Puerto Rico, with its vibrant nightlife, isn’t far behind with a 400 percent jump. And rounding out the top three is tropical Georgetown, Grand Cayman, with a 100 percent increase.
