(CMR) The Cayman Islands has been named one of the Best Islands to Visit in the Caribbean and the Atlantic by leading travel publication Condé Nast Traveler. Cayman was chosen as a leading destination in the publication's annual Readers' Choice Awards.
Although the Cayman Islands is familiar with accolades of this caliber, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) said it was pleased to accept the honor from Condé Nast Traveler readers this year following an unprecedented 19 months for travel worldwide.
More than 800,000 travelers submitted responses rating their experiences across the globe to help narrow down the best of the best – from destinations and resorts to airlines, luggage, and car rentals. The Readers' Choice Awards program is the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.
“We are honored to be recognized as a premier travel destination, especially now as we've begun to welcome tourists back to our trio of unique islands once again,” said Hon. Minister for Tourism and Transport, Kenneth Bryan.
“Condé Nast Traveler is one of the most respectable publications in our industry, and this accolade solidifies that the culture, cuisine and Caymankindness is among the best in the world.”
According to CIDOT, the Cayman Islands is the perfect location for wanderlusters looking to experience something new and exciting for their next getaway as travel returns. Each of the three distinct islands has something to offer for travelers of all ages and interests:
Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, offering a wealth of activities, accommodations, and attractions. You will find some of the most popular activities within the island, such as Rum Point, Pedro St. James, Caymans Turtle Center, Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City, and more.
Just 90 miles off the shore of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac is blessed with natural treasures, offering an off-the-beaten-path, adventure-fueled travel experience. Cayman Brac provides a peaceful environment for walking, hiking, biking, taking leisurely drives, or just relaxing in blissful solitude
Little Cayman emphasizes the definition of an island getaway and remains a favorite of divers, naturalists, and photographers. With only ten square miles and a population of less than 200, most of Little Cayman remains uninhabited, offering a rare combination of sun-drenched solitude, glistening beaches, and miles of untouched tropical wilderness to explore.
