(CMR) George Town Primary School has 17 COVID-19 positive children with three adults connected to the outbreak. The prison officer confirmed yesterday is said to be included in this number. This is one more than the reported numbers early yesterday morning. There are also four additional community transmission cases making it a total of 24 confirmed cases with no known travel history.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 1,394 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Thursday, 16 August 2021. There were two positive test results in travelers.
In Grand Cayman persons wishing to be tested for COVID-19 can attend the COVID-19 Testing Clinic at the Cayman Islands Hospital Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. Persons are encouraged to book appointments online by visiting hsa.ky/appointment, however, walk-ins are welcome. Government-issued ID and face masks are required for testing.
The COVID-19 Testing Clinic is in the space previously occupied by the Physiotherapy department, on the side of the hospital facing the Seventh Day Adventist Church, to the far left of A&E. Signage on the hospital campus will direct patients to the clinic.
In Cayman Brac a COVID-19 drive-thru screening facility has been set up at the Aston Rutty Centre Flu Clinic scheduled for Saturday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
