(CMR) A police chase earlier this afternoon has ended in a man and woman, both 29-years-old and from Bodden Town, being arrested after they attempted to evade police.
The chase appears to have begun around 12:30 pm today when police observed the man driving a car in West Bay. The man decided to not stop and a police chase ensued. CMR eyewitnesses contacted us about 12:35 pm to inform us of the chase which involved at least 5 police cars/jeeps and the police helicopter.
The police had both entrances to Safe Haven and Crystal Harbour blocked off attempting to capture the duo. They eventually came to a dead end at the local Holiday Inn where they exited the vehicle and ran off on foot.
The RCIPS helicopter assisted in a thorough search of the area and the two parties were apprehended. The man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. It appears he was wanted by the authorities on other matters including wounding with intent. The woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and intending to impede his apprehension.
The two remain in police custody pending further investigations.
