(CMR) Capella Music Festival is returning for a summer show at the Festival Green at Camana Bay on Saturday, July 16, 2022, with several big acts expected to perform.

The festival will be returning for the first time since December 2017, with an extended full-day show providing attendees with an immersive day of music bringing together legendary artists across the music worlds of pop, pop-rock, and reggae. 

This year’s lineup will feature, for the first time in Cayman, British Pop star Charli XCX known for her catalog of huge hits, faultless synchronized dancing, and seamless costume changes. Charli delivers a mesmerizing celebration of all things pop and is no stranger to performing at major music festivals worldwide. Charli always delivers a show of true unadulterated fun.

From pop to pop-rock, the show will see the return of multiple Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Michael Bolton, to Cayman. Bolton, a multiple award winner who has sold over 65 million records globally and continues to tour the world, headlined the Cayman Islands Jazz Fest in 2008.

In good company, three-time Grammy award winner and Golden Globe nominee Wyclef Jean will be performing for the first time in Cayman on the Capella Stage. Wyclef Jean, a founding member of legendary hip hop band The Fugees, is set to bring a high-energy performance to the Capella Stage. 

As a Caribbean curated festival, Capella will always have a strong focus on reggae music featuring two great legends of Reggae music: Maxi Priest, one of the most successful reggae fusion acts of all time, and an original Capella star Beres Hammond, the Grammy-nominated reggae and lovers rock star who is loved across the globe.

Capella festival-goers will experience the main stage performances and an additional Supernova Sound Tent, which will mix the international performers with a massive lineup of local performers and DJs. DJs include DJ Craig, Impulzz Band, $ugadaddi, Rico Ronaldo, DJ Cardiac, Asya Band, Las Palmas, Georgie Duarte, DJ RKM, DJ Glenroy, Erica Assai, Beneil Miller, The Fabulous 68s, The Neverines, Selecta Renegade, DJ Mat Banx, Decades of Perfume, James Geary and International electronic DJ’s Crazibiza and the Cheesecake Boys. 

For this re-energized installment of the Capella Music Festival, local organizers Bold Entertainment have partnered with Monster Media to produce the show and the Dart Organization as venue partner; the event will take place on the Festival Green at Camana Bay.

“We’re delighted to welcome Capella back to the Festival Green and provide a space for residents and visitors to gather and enjoy world-class entertainment in the heart of Camana Bay, “shared Justin Howe, President of Real Estate Asset Management, Dart.

Kenny Rankin of Monster Media stated, “We are excited about this partnership to help produce the Capella Music Festival. Monster Media has produced concerts and sporting events in Cayman for over 26 years; we look forward to adding some of this experience to the festival”.

He continued, “It is the goal of all parties to work towards growing the festival and making it an annual event for the Island and International guests to enjoy.” 

General admission passes are priced at CI $135.00 and include access to the main viewing field, Supernova Sound Tent, activities, and vendors. VIP Passes are CI $475.00, which provides priority queuing, stage-front access for premium viewing, main viewing field, Supernova Sound Tent, activities and vendors, Inclusive drinks at the VIP Bar, Parking Pass, VIP Bathrooms, Shared VIP Lounge Area with lounge seating.

The Premium VIP Pass is CI $875.00, including premium priority queuing, exclusive raised platform viewing for an elevated experience, stage-front access for premium viewing, main viewing field, Supernova Sound Tent, activities, and vendors. It also includes Premium inclusive drinks, VIP Parking Pass, Air-conditioned VIP Bathrooms, Shared VIP Lounge Area, Premium Air-conditioned VIP Lounge with Lounge Furniture, Exclusive bar, Complimentary Food offerings, Sweet Treats, Fresh Fruit and Coconut Water, Glam and pampering stations.
