(CMR) A Canadian man has set his fourth world record for eating hot peppers. Mike Jack of London, Ontario, ate three Carolina Reaper chilies in 9.72 seconds, setting the Guinness World record for the fastest time to eat three of those peppers.
For the purposes of this record, each chili had to weigh at least 5 grams (0.18 oz), and a certificate proving they were in fact “Carolina Reaper” peppers had to be provided, the Guinness World Record website said.
Jack broke his first world record in January 2019, when he took 9.75 seconds to eat three Bhut Jolokia chili peppers.
In March 2019, he set his second world record for the most Bhut Jolokia chili peppers eaten in one minute; he ate 97 grams.
He followed that when he broke the record for most Bhut Jolokia chili peppers eaten in two minutes in February, 2020.
